David Gilmour is
on tour to promote his latest solo album, On An Island. This is an excerpt
of a show performed last Friday in Manchester with his special guests
David Crosby and Graham Nash. Of all the audience recordings of the recent
tour, this is one of the best, if not the best. Clear instruments and
vocals with a nice sonic soundstage. The stereo image is almost mono but
the clarity is what’s amazing from this audience recording.
Taper davem recorded
the show from Row N directly in front of the right hand PA using Sony
PCM-M1 DAT with AT831s Series Microphones.
We offer the middle
set with some choice Pink Floyd tunes including Arnold Layne! If there's
any interest, we can offer the opening part of this show where Gilmour
played his new album, On An Island, in its entirety as well as the final
three songs of the concert that follow this segment.
