don't need another hero. We've got superheroes, action heroes, real-life
heroes and now on TV more shows about "heroes" than we care for. The truth
is, these heroes are here to make us feel good since in real life we do
not have the anger or the courage to speak truth to power.

2007. Excellent audience recording.

The twang-bar king.
This incredible recording
of two nights at Ronnie Scott's in London deserves to be shared and spread
far and wide. Here is Jeff Beck at his best and, as a bonus, with Eric
Clapton on two songs trading licks, riffs and having a great time on two
Muddy Waters' blues. Clapton takes lead while Beck is on slide guitar.
Altogether Beck signed
up for five nights at the 200-seater venue. Here are two shows from Nov
29 and 30. Guest spots were open and included Joss Stone who sang with
the band. Her performance is not here but Imogen Heap's is. In the audience
are said to be Paul McCartney and Jimmy Page.
This show predates
the famous Led Zeppelin reunion at the 02 Arena on December 10, 2007.
Just listen to the
excitement. Highlights? How about Beck's sinuous riffs on A Day In The
Life? Or Cause We've Ended As Lovers? New bassist Tal Wilkenfeld from
Australia has been playing with Beck recently and was at the Crossroads
Festival as well. Beck surrounds himself with some cool guitar babes.
This one is for fans of blues rock. An excellent recording released by
Japanese label Mid Valley.
Hopefully, you'll
be inspired to pick up a guitar and play.
