Steve Forbert was labelled the new Bob Dylan. To our ears, he remains little Stevie Forbert,
a grossly underrated singer-songwriter.

Live in the BBC studio with Bob Harris, January 19 and broadcast January 20, 2008.
A great relaxed performance with an
informative interview conducted by the always interesting Bob Harris of the BBC. Forbert tells of how he emerged
in New York while punk was nascent. The critics loved his second album,
Jackrabbit Slim, which produced his only mainstream hit, Romeo's Tune, which was No. 11 on Billboard in 1980.
Forbert candidly admits how he slipped when his
subsequent albums attempted to be different and trendy when he should have just
relied on his strength as a songwriter of intimate songs. Evidence of this can
be found on Young Guitar Days, a 2001 compilation of songs left in the can when
they should have been released.
The new album has at least one classic
