The show opens with an intro from Billy Taylor (the great pianist who served as the host for so many years of this great program). The show opens with the WSQ and Max Roach, then continues with an amazing set from M'Boom (pronounced ooom boom). For those of you unfamiliar with them, you will be amazed at their sound. 236] Bob Marley & The Wailers - Rufaro Stadium 1980 [no label 1CD Torrent: 70818] live at Rufaro Stadium, Harare (Salisbury), Zimbabwe, Apr 18, 1980. This is also known as the riot show. "After the official Zimbabwean flag had been raised, the performance of Bob Marley & The Wailers was announced. The audience consisted of assembled dignitaries and media, including the international luminaries like Zimbabwe's first Prime Minister Robert Mugabe, Britain's Prince Charles and India's Indira Gandhi.

"The performance begun with 'Positive Vibration' and went on well with 'Them Belly Full' and 'Roots, Rock, Reggae'. The Zimbabwean crowd outside the stadium hearing Marley singing got angry and pressed against the stadium's gates. During 'I Shot The Sheriff', the police answered by firing tear gas. Marley and the band were escorted to safety. That's the point where the soundboard cuts.

"After some minutes Marley came back onstage and shouted 'Freedom!', while a crisp English voice from the other end of the stadium announced: 'Bob Marley, you have exactly two minutes left.' The band played 'War' which faded into 'No More Trouble'. Now running a quarter of an hour over their allotted two minutes, The Wailers performed 'Zimbabwe', with the entire audience joining in the chorus line. Then the concert was definitely cancelled.

"Therefore, this soundboard source is incomplete; it misses 'War/No More Trouble' and 'Zimbabwe'. But it is still a historical recording." GD+ SBD stereo. Hissy.

237] Maria Muldaur - Before The Oasis [no label 1CD Torrent: 72515] live at Yale University, New Haven, CT, Dec 12, 1972 early show. "Here is a nice set from Maria Muldaur, pre Midnight at the Oasis. The sound is very nice, but there is a little bit tape hiss." Ex- SBD stereo.

238] Pink Floyd - The Wall Dortmund 1981 [no label 2CD Torrent: 70860] live in Dortmund, Germany, Feb 19, 1981. New audience tape source. Known defects are 5 sec missing before "Hey You" and 14 sec before "Show must go on. "I know there are other sources from this date that exist, but I have never listened to them, so I have nothing to go by as far as how this recording stacks up to the other ones. BUT, I must say that it is very nice for an audience recording. I have listened the 1980 LA shows, and to my ears this recording is far superior with a fuller sound. The tapers location must have been in the sweet spot." VG+ AUD stereo.

239] Pink Floyd - Studio Outtakes [no label 1CD Torrent: 70373] Sessions for Dark Side Of The Moon recorded at Abbey Road, London, June & November 1972. It is probable that Tks 1, 6 & 7 are the same recordings heard on the DVD Live At Pompeii. Ex SBD stereo.

241] Elvis Presley - Guaranteed To Really Blow Your Mind: Improved version [no label 1CD Torrent: 70486] live in Richmond Coliseum, Richmond, VA, Mar 18, 1974. "This has been out on bootleg as "Guaranteed to Blow Your Mind"... however this is a different source. Perhaps it's from a lower-generation reel, but to my ears it suprasses the aforementioned title in terms of quality." Ex SBD stereo.

242] Elvis Presley - Having Fun With Elvis On Stage Vol 2 & 3 [HK 1CD Torrent: 71037] This disc contains the two CDs released by HK records in 2000. They mimic the official 1974 RCA album of the same title. There is no music only Elvis’ onstage banter. The content is taken from different soundboard bootlegs released in the last years of his career. "Also, now it is no longer a matter of "having fun" with Elvis, but rather "hear Elvis talk on stage". When Elvis raves about rumours and drug-abuse in Las Vegas, sept. 2 1974 it could hardly be described as 'Having Fun With Elvis On Stage'." Ex- SBD/AUD stereo.

243] Elvis Presley - We Have Not Rehearsed Them! [Cat Fish 1CD Torrent: 72594] live at various dates and locations 1970-76. Four tracks have been deleted as they appear on official releases. This boot presents unusual songs Elvis performed on the fly. VG+ AUD/SBD? stereo. Very good stuff.

244] Flying Burrito Brothers - Live At The Palamino 1969 [no label 2CD Torrent: 72042] live at The Palomino, North Hollywood, CA, June 8, 1969.

"Almost 15 years ago, a friend told me that a co-worker of his had recorded the Flying Burrito Brothers in the late '60s. As the story goes, the guy was something of an audiophile and had recorded this show on reel to reel in stereo, of sorts, with one mic on the stage and another spread far apart.

"While the recording had circulated before, the guy went back to his original reels and did what was described as a "meticulous transfer." I don't know if it was done on a computer or on a standalone, but what was sent to me were two CD-Rs. I'm pretty sure they were straight off his DAT or the CD-R set he had made for himself direct from the reels. The quality of his transfer was superior to anything I had heard before. All edits, fades and such are his doing. The lineage here is Master Reel > DAT or CD-R > CD-R(1) > FLAC."

The Band: Gram Parsons, Chris Hillman, Sneaky Pete Kleinow, Michael Clarke and Chris Ethridge, joined by Clarence White Jimmy Morris takes lead vocals on "Life in Prison" and "Hungry Eyes," and sings on "High on a Hilltop" Ex AUD stereo. What a discovery.

"The quality of the music is good to very good,in the beginning there are a lot of mics tuning noise. The show was in a very small venue in front of only a few people and you hear mostly between the songs some noise from the audience, some political statements a lot of "BUH" & SCHEISSE(SHIT) shouters. Absolutely rare performance by these three artists. Brian Eno plays fantastic electronics and synthezizer during "Das Lied Der Deutschen". John Cale has his hottest moments when he plays viola to Nico`s voice and pump organ. Very rare tracks and versions of great music." VG+ AUD stereo. What a find.
