COCK & BULL
Here are excerpts from US Secretary of State Colin Powells show at the U.N. in February 2003:
Iraqs chemical weapons and missiles:
"Our conservative estimate is that Iraq today has a stockpile of between 100 and 500 tons of chemical-weapons agent. That is enough agent to fill 16,000 battlefield rockets."
mobile biological-weapons facilities:
"We know from sources that a missile brigade outside Baghdad was dispersing rocket launchers and warheads containing biological-warfare agent
"We have first-hand descriptions of biological-weapons factories on wheels and on rails.
"We know that Iraq has at least seven of these mobile, biological-agent factories perhaps 18 trucks that we know of imagine trying to find 18 trucks among the thousands and thousands of trucks that travel the roads of Iraq every day.
"Saddam Hussein is very much focused on putting in place the key missing piece from his nuclear-weapons program, the ability to produce fissile material."
But this is what they have found after bombing Baghdad and removing Saddam:
HALF OF IRAQ'S TOP 'WEAPONS SITES' SEARCHED WITH NO RESULT:
The White House appeared to be trying to scale back expectations that weapons of mass destruction will be found.
IRAQI ARMS ERODES ASSUMPTIONS:
After testing some though by no means all -- of their best leads, analysts here and in Washington are increasingly doubtful that they will find what they are looking for in the places described on a five-tiered target list drawn up before fighting began
BUSH CON JOB:
Empty-Handed U.S. Focuses on Iraqi Arms Scientists: Some U.S. officials have even begun to suggest that finding scientists who will testify to Saddam's arms ambitions could be enough to fulfill America's justification for the Iraq war even if the weapons themselves are never located.
BLAIR AND THE BIG LIE:
A torrent of propaganda deceiving Americans into believing Iraq was armed to the teeth with WMDs, somehow responsible for 9/11, and intending, as Bush repeatedly claimed, to attack the U.S.
UN WEAPONS TEAMS FROM IRAQ:
The United States will not permit United Nations weapons inspectors to return to Iraq, saying the US military has taken over the role of searching for Saddam's weapons of mass destruction.
IN NUCLEAR BOMB-MAKING BUSINESS:
The United States says it has regained the capability to make nuclear weapons for the first time in 14 years and has resumed production of plutonium parts for bombs.
AND WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION:
Imagine you are Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense, and you have insisted for many months that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction. Your troops encountered no such weapons in their invasion, and have found none since the occupation began. This might strike some as embarrassing. You are a billionaire and have no need for shame.

[another reason $ingapore joined the US-led coalition to invade Iraq]

This is how Foreign minister
S Jayakumar explained $ingapores stand: "Hence, it is our fundamental
national interest to see Iraq disarmed."
The nation-builder press, Mar 29 2003
This is what Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong said: "The United States did not go into Iraq to destroy Islam. It is not in Iraq to hit out at a Muslim country. It is clear to everyone, unless that person wears blinkers, that this is a war to remove the weapons of mass destruction from Saddam Hussein."
Mr Goh also said if weapons
of mass destruction were to fall into the hands of terrorists, they could also
become a threat to $ingapore, which two years ago was targetted by a terrorist
"AKAN DATANG [coming soon], a C.I.A. WHITE PAPER to conclusively prove that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction."

DO THEY KNOW THERES SARS OUT THERE?
$ingapores original 13 ISA detainees were arrested between Dec 9 and Dec 24 2001. They have been jailed without trial for one year and four months. Of the 13 suspects, the only one to have admitted involvement in an Al-Qaeda plot to bomb the US Embassy in $ingapore is Mohamed Nazir. Nazir is also the only one who is represented by a lawyer. No one is asking the $ingapore government to substantiate its claim in court.
