Beck, Bogart & Appice - Live in London 1974 [no label 1CD] live at the Rainbow, London, Jan 26, 1974, BB&A's final show. These tracks were offered as a digital stream at the Carmine Appice website. They were listed as live in London. From the setlist it appears to be the final show on Jan 26, 1974. But these versions sound different to existing bootlegs from FM recordings. It is possible that this Appice version has been remixed to sound better. The tracks also do not correspond with what has been bootlegged previously. Nonetheless an interesting listen. Ex SBD stereo. Procol Harum with Joe Cocker - John Liquorice Dead Rock And Roll Allstars [Living Legend LLRCD 038 1CD] 12 tracks includes one track with Cocker on vocals from 1969 Liquorice John Sessions. Lineup: Gary Brooker, Robin Trower, Dave Knights, Mathew Fisher, BJ Wilson, Joe Cocker, Leon Redbone and Jack Lancaster [Blodwyn Pig]. This lineup in 1970 was the pre-Procol Harum group, The Paramounts! "In 1989 an Italian company brought out a bootleg CD, purporting to contain the famous Liquorice John Session, on the Living Legend label. Although at least 30 songs were apparently recorded, of which 13 were mixed by Chris Thomas and aired on Radio in the mid-'70s, this CD contains only 11 cuts that could possibly have come from that session." - Procolharum.com.

Apparently the Joe Cocker track may have nothing to do with this session. The songs from this session includes many cover versions of rock 'n' roll hits. Here's why: "...so copying what I'd seen at Beatles sessions where they would go through their old favourites, I asked Procol to play anything they liked while we did what we needed to do. Gary was and is totally in his element singing this kind of stuff and I was quite happy to listen and not interrupt, even once we were ready to start the song we had to cut that night. From this was born the idea of hiring a studio for one night to put their old repertoire down." - producer Chris Thomas. Ex SBD/FM? stereo. This album was finally released in 1999 as Ain't Nothin' To Get Excited About and attributed to Liquorice John Death. The official lineup was Gary Brooker, Robin Trower, BJ Wilson & Chris Copping.
