into the building, following the microphone snake. They followed it the
wrong way and busrt into the area where the WLIR truck was located. "It
was pretty funny, the shocked look on their faces." At the end of track
4, EC apologizes for being late, and explains that the door fell off their
bus, so they arrived by car and had no time to do a soundcheck. That's
probably why the first track on the master cassette was slightly cut off.

for the last 3 months of 1977. Support band was Richard Hell & The
Voidoids that night." VG+ AUD stereo?
The Clash - Flash Bastards: REMASTERED [no label 1CD Torrent: 120703]
live at The Lyceum, London, Dec 28, 1978. "Here is an amazing Clash show
from late '78. This was a great period for the band who are in fine form
and are complemented here by an excellent soundboard source." Theface07.
Ex SBD stereo. This show was recorded for possible use on the Rude Boy
soundtrack. It leaked possibly through Kosmo Vinyl.
The Clash - Agora Theatre, Cleveland 1979 [no label 1CD] live in Cleveland,
Feb 13 1979 + 4 tracks sourced from King Biscuit Flower Hour. This show
was compiled from three soundboard or FM sources. VG SBD stereo. Like
all punk shows, vocals are all over in the mix, drums undermiked and guitars
dominant.

The Clash - Notre Dame Secret Gig 1979 [no label 1CD] live at Notre Dame
Hall, London, UK, July 5 1979. 18 tracks and first public performances
for five London Calling songs. VG AUD mono. Incomplete show missing two
songs. 59 mins. A Sukwoon, Phil, Jeff-edition
The Clash - Tribal Stomp in Monterey 1979 [no label 1CD Torrent: 93365]
live at Monterey Co. Fairgrounds Monterey Ca., Sept 8, 1979. Taken from
master cassette. "This is the first time that this tape has been digitized
and EQed with software which allows for the cleanest, most listenable
version to be offered here. I've never EQed a recording where the equipment
was working properly. Only in cases where there's a serious problem would
I make this kind of alteration. Even doing this, there are so many possible
response curves that one can fuss endlessly. With a tape like this, one
could even use different settings for different parts of it. Basically,
it needed a bass boost so I took my best shot and here it is.
"A poorly attended event, the promoter Chet Helms, lost money, the Clash
were pissed off about the situation and allegedly thrashed the rented
RV that was their dressing room, costing even more money. Recorded by
Grner1. Transferred and re-mastered by me." - musigny23. VG+ AUD stereo.
The Clash - This Is Live Clash: Chicago 1979 [Weeping Goat? 1CD] live
in Chicago Sept 14 1979. Ex- FM mono? Some distortion, slightly muffled.
Quite a lot of live punk shows were recorded with that d-i-y spirit.
The Clash - The Guns
Of Brixton [Great Dane] - live at the Palladium, New York, Sept 21 1979.
23 tracks.
The Clash - Capital
Crisis [Golden Stars] - live Capitol Theatre, Mar 1980

The Clash - The Palais St. Saveur [no label 1CD] live in France, May 9?
1981, incomplete show. Ex- SBD stereo. A bit muddy.
The Clash - Rat Patrol From Fort Bragg [Redline 2CD] CD1 is the Mick Jones
mix of the original album that later became 1982's Combat Rock. This album
gave them chart success in the US but led to Mick Jones being fired from
the band. CD2 are remixes, outtakes and instrumentals. Much of the Mick
Jones material has reappeared on various Clash compilations over the years.
The following are officially available:

Rock The Casbah
- edited remixed version released on"Combat Rock" and every Clash compilation.
"As an aside, the
story about Mick finding cassette copies of the long-lost Vanilla Tapes
when moving house are absolutely true. On the other hand, he's had possession
of the Rat Patrol acetates all along. The surviving members of the Clash
are a bit tired though of the reissue promotion business following the
London Calling 25th Anniversary version and the whole Rat Patrol/Combat
Rock issue has remained unresolved in the Clash camp enough that the outtakes
have never been included on any rarities collection or box set. With Joe
dead, the others may well decide to leave it at that. That would be a
shame. I think Fulham and Idle are both worthy of release, and while it's
arguable whether Combat Rock was an improvement on Rat Patrol at Fort
Bragg, the latter has an artistic coherence the final version lacked."
- TeddyB1018 at 2005-10-14 07:12:57 GMT
I have reconfigured
CD1 of this bootleg to follow the original double LP sequenced by Mick
Jones. Also Tks 1 and 2 of the bootleg have the wrong titles. They should
be "The Fulham Connection" and "Idle In The Kangaroo Court W1" respectively.
Ex SBD stereo.
The Clash - Hong
Kong Dollar Indian Cents 1982 [no label 2CD] Live at the AC Hall, Hong
Kong, Feb 25 1982. This recording is supposedly an FM broadcast but there
are cuts on the tape presumably to remove the DJ chatter. Inadvertently,
the announcement by the presenter is also cut. So is this a show in Hong
Kong? VG-Ex- FM stereo.

The Clash - Walk Evil Talk: The Rat Patrol From Fort Bragg [no label 1CD]
Fan remaster of the Clash bootleg, The Rat Patrol
This version is
taken from a CD-R bought at a record fair and purportedly comes from The
Clash's record label. This is allegedly Mick Jones' mix of 1981's Combat
Rock and includes a never-before-heard jazz-like instrumental, Walk Evil
Talk, which is just "Topper and Mick". Remastered by Sukwoon Noh. Ex-

wonderful disc is actually John completely presented through Alice's early
1970s mystical vision. Only John Coltrane's and portions of his quartet
members' parts are original dating from previously unreleased mid-1960s
performances: the bass solos, the harp and organ parts, the percussion
parts, and sweeping Stravinsky-like string arrangements were overdubbed
in 1972. This is not "John Coltrane with Strings," but a re-envisioned
opus entirely. Some might call it heresy: I call it brilliant. Released

ghostly visitation by its composer who offered her musical and spiritual
advice and blessings. Released July 13, 1972. Currently out-of-print.

Chicago Transit Authority - Fillmore West, May 1969
[no label 1CD] live at Fillmore West, San Francisco, CA, May 30, 1969.
The earliest known recording just after the release of Chicago Transit
Authority? Some cuts in the tracks. "The May '69 Chicago show at Fillmore
West you sent is the same CD as what most people refer to as the 2nd CD
from the August 15-17, 1969 Fillmore West show. Why most people feel it
is August 15-17, '69 is because Robert Lamm says during the show that
it is their 3rd time at the Fillmore and it was a long time between the
2nd and 3rd shows at Fillmore West. The back of the Carnegie Hall booklet
lists Chicago's concert dates from '67 to '71. It lists their first shows
at Fillmore West as Sept 12-14, 1968 and Nov 21-24, 1968. It lists the
third show as, you guessed it, August 15-17, 1969." - trader Buff. Ex

Chicago Transit Authority - Fillmore West 1969: THE FINAL VERSION? [GuySmiley
Production 2CD Torrent #90076] live at Fillmore West, San Francisco, CA.,
August (15-17), 1969. "After numerous permutations making the internet
rounds, here is what we hope will be the ultimate - and most complete
- version of this earliest known soundboard recording of Chicago (Transit
Authority. Recorded live at Bill Grahams fabled Fillmore West in
August of 1969, the reels were transferred to DAT in the early 1990s before
Graham's untimely death. The original DAT had the 2 short sets completely
mixed up as the reels were loaded incorrectly.
(In fact, the last
track on the 90 minute DAT is Someday which explains the sharp cut at
the end of that song compared to the "old-school" sound of a reel as it
reaches the end of its tether.) When the DAT was first transferred to
CDR, presumably in the early 2000s, it tracked poorly and the resulting
copy which was leaked to the internet suffered from numerous obnoxious
digital noise bursts (in addition to the original dropouts that occurred
due to reel flips and other human errors)." A couple of songs are cut
at the end, Someday and Liberation. Except for a slight fade at the end
of Someday, these 2 tracks were left alone. Some dropouts on original
reel specifically Beginnings, Questions 67 & 68 and The Road have
been worked on. Ex SBD stereo. This version is taken from the master DAT
tape that was a direct copy from the master reel.

Chicago - Park West 1982: UPGRADE [no label 1CD Torrent: 112106] live
at Park West, Chicago, IL, August 5 or 6 1982. Lineage: Westwood One 2LP's
(strobe speed verified). "As far as I know this syndicated concert was
aired on radio at least twice by Westwood One. First, as a shorter 60
minute (w/ commercials) version between Dec. 3rd and 5th 1982. Then, as
a 90 minute version the week of 10/17/83 in completely different order.
The latter broadcast transcription discs are the source of this torrent,
approx 76 minutes and some change, total minus commercials. This longer
version contains all the same songs, plus more, that were in the original
truncated broadcast. Nice sounding show with a few caveats. As is often
the case with Westwood One LP's from this era, the pressings were cut
at an *extremely* low level and geared for FM broadcast, as much as 27
minutes of material on one LP side, resulting in a show that's a wee tad
shut-in compared to the absolute very best recordings." This version is
4 minutes longer than the previous. There is also one track difference
- This has Chains as Tk 5. The other has it titled as Free Form Intro.

is not as pristine as its lineage suggests. Seems the station's transmission
may not have been powerful so there are issues with sound quality eg slightly
muffled here and there and distortion. But the revelation is that Coldplay's
shows are heavily supported by pre-recorded sounds although all individual
instruments are live as are the vocals but "backing parts" were pre-recorded.
The group must play within a set pattern. Hence the conclusion is that
if you've seen one Coldplay show, you've seen them all. In this case,
if you've heard one, you've heard them all. Ex- FM stereo.
