Tim Hardin - Unforgiven: Lost Album [no label 1CD] This was released in 1981 by San Francisco Sound/Warrior Records with permission of Susan Hardin, limited to 5,000 LPs. "This final album was recorded shortly before his death and only a few tracks were completed. It is obvious from the sound quality that some tracks were recorded at home - the piano is not properly miked up - and more work ought to have been done before release. However, it shows the route that Tim was taking and the desire to get back into the public eye. The title track was subsequently recorded by Joe Cocker and released as a single. Although the album has never made it to CD (and probably never will), the title track is available on the Polydor compilation CD Black Sheep Boy." Hardin died December of that year. Lineup: Tim Hardin - guitar, piano, vocals; Johnny Lee - guitar; Peter Grant - pedal steel guitar; Reginald Butler - bass; Ricky Fatar, Denny Seiwell - drums; Jim Cuomo - piano, dombra; Nicky Hopkins, Ken Lauber - piano. We received this in a trade and while looking for info about this release found that it may be an out-of-print item but the label that released this is also long gone and the rights apparently are with Hardin's family. PJ Harvey - Live 1993 [no label 1CD Torrent: 138960] live at The Forum London, England, May 23, 1993. "This is one of the greatest ever live albums! I don't for the life of me understand why it was never commercially released. The sound quality is superb, the songs are brilliant, and the show builds relentlessly to an incredibly powerful and intense climax. The only drawback was the irritating editing out of the word "fucking" on "M-Bike" and "Snake"… It irritated me so much that I took the sound from some footage of the show I had on DVD (not the whole show, and in inferior sound), and edited the obscenities back in! There was also a small glitch in track 6 that I edited out. Highly recommended as one of THE great live albums, up there with "No Sleep till Hammersmith" and "Kick out the Jams"!" - edeledeledel. Hollies - Manchester Express [Ten Dollar 1CD] "This may well be the first real Hollies bootleg (they never made it to underground vinyl), and it's an astonishingly good 27-song disc... The first four tracks are German- or UK-only B-sides and EP cuts from the group's early years, all lightweight but otherwise first-rate early tracks ("Like Every Time Before," "What Kind of Love," "When I'm Not There" etc). The true stereo tracks off of Evolution have since become available through EMI), and are marred by some surface noise in any case, but they're made up for by the undated live cuts (including "I Can't Let Go," "Times They Are A-Changin'," "Reach Out," and "Stop Stop Stop") from Stockholm, which are as exciting as any concert recordings of this band ever issued; there are some momentary audio problems, these can be forgiven for the chance to hear this outfit do as well with a Four Tops number as they do here. Speaking of the Hollies covering Motown material, the Atlantic "comback" single with Graham Nash, "Stop! In The Name Of Love" is included, sounding quite good, and the rest is a fascinating if uneven catch of odd late-'60s and early-'70s B-sides ("Mad Professor Blyth," "Row The Boat Together") and one cool BBC live cut of the band doing a cover of Sam Cooke's "Shake," and, from other sources, live versions of rock 'n roll standards like "Reelin' And Rockin'" and "She Said Yeah" and their own hits "Bus Stop" and "Carrie Anne," plus the "Hollie Daze" hit-medley single, which seems the perfect way to end this pastische of Hollies history." - Bruce Eder. Husker Du - Maxwell's 1984 [no label 1CD torrent 156964] live at Maxwell's, Hoboken, NJ, June 23, 1984. "This is an audience recording of a firestorm. Such a sound cannot be captured on a mere cassette tape, but I think a bit of the mania is preserved here for all you Husker Duskers. This was another packed-to-the-gills night in the backroom of Maxwell's and the show starts with Bob telling the crowd that there would be no encore… they wouldn't be able to leave the room and maneuver their way back in through the wall of bodies. This show took place just a few weeks before the release of Zen Arcade… I'm sure the tour was planned to promote the album, but SST's pressing and distribution had been delayed." - Guy_R_E VG+ AUD stereo.
