This must be the single most tallented group of musicians on the Jersey shore at that time. The band consisted of "Miami" Steve Van Zandt (guitar/vocals), Gary "Funky Chicken" Tallent (bass), Vini "Mad Dog" Lopez (drums/vocals), "Southside" Johnny Lyon (harmonica/vocals), Davy Sancious (organ) and as special guest just in from Florida (and thus without a band at the time) Bruce Springsteen. Bruce Springsteen - The Way It Was: Sept 19, 1978 [no label 4CD dime 245313] CD 1-3 live at Capital Theatre, Passaic, NJ, Sept 19, 1978. This is the original UNEDITED FM broadcast from WNEW-FM on the night itself. Includes all the DJ introductions. The interviews all took place between the set breaks. Later, bootleggers would edit the b'cast and boost the sound for their silver disc releases. This was first circulated in December 2007 by "scoper" from his original master cassette. CD4 five tracks from the soundcheck at the same venue and date. Ex- FM stereo. You might prefer the boosted sound of the bootlegs. In some places, on this version, the drums sound too weak. Cuts here and there are due to the tape flips.

Godfather sequences Nebraska by chronological order with CD1 offering Demos#1 Mar/May 1981 and Demos#2 June/Dec 1981. CD2 has the Colts Neck, Jan 3 1982 outtakes plus 4 bonus tracks of home demos from the same period. VG-Ex sound.

Bruce Springsteen - Heart & Soul [E Street 3CD] live at Activity Centre, Arizona State University, Tempe on Nov 5 1980. This show has the Boss hitting out at Ronald Reagan. Later Reagan co-opted Born In The USA for his re-election campaign. Has two dropouts on CD3 on track 3 and 4. A minor irritation. Ex- SBD

Bruce Springsteen - "A Hard Night to Play" aka "A Night for Lennon" [no label 3CD Torrent: 53984] live at The Spectrum, Philadelphi, PA, Dec 9, 1980. Bruce's show the night after John Lennon was murdered in NYC. After an emotional intro, Bruce and company rip through 34 songs including a very intense "Twist and Shout" finale. VG+ AUD stereo.

Bruce Springsteen - Toronto 1981 [no label 2CD Torrent: 54500] live at Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Jan 20, 1981. "This tape is already circulating as "I'm A Rocker" by Ottawa Records (http://www.mv.com/ipusers/richbreton/d/titles/IAR_OR.htm) however, this can be considered a new version. I'm A Rocker was sourced from a 5/6/7th generation tape, whereas this is directly from the original soundboard recording. It also contains the complete Detroit Medley, which fades out on I'm A Rocker at 5:25m. There were also several cuts to fit it on one CD - this is the full uncut recording. However, it is not without its flaws - there are several tape warps during the show, especially during Rosalita. I've tried to make the skips as natural as possible to preserve the flow.
